Moms & More General Questions
-
Yes! Our members are moms, dads, expecting parents, and nannies/caretakers. If you are a family joining (e.g., two parents), you only need to purchase 1 membership.
-
Yes! We have members throughout the state. Because we are based in West Hartford, most of our events are local to that area, so most of our members reside in the Farmington Valley (West Hartford, Avon, Simsbury, Farmington, Newington, New Britain, etc.).
-
Moms and More is a non-profit, volunteer run organization.
The annual membership fee goes toward the costs associated with operating an organization (e.g., this website!), and are applied to discounted admission fees and membership events.
-
We host around 5 children’s events, 2 adult-focused events, and 1 bookclub a month from September - June.
General programming takes a break during the summer months, but we host some free meetups and other smaller gatherings during this time.
-
Children’s events typically range from free to $25 depending on the cost of the venue. Annual holiday events (e.g., The Essex Steam Train, Disney on Ice) can be more expensive.
More Nights Out typically range from free to attend (e.g., happy hours where you buy your own drinks) to$40 depending on the event.
Playgroups are hosted at member homes or public venues and are free to participate
-
We do not cap it to any age group! Our children's events focus on 0-5 year olds.
Our More Night Out events, Facebook community, and membership-wide events are for parents of all-age children. So even when your kids are school-aged, there is still community and fun for you!
-
We are always looking for new voices on our board! Reach out to momsandmoredirectors [at] gmail [.] com to find out available board positions.
-
We offer sponsorship options for members who own local businesses (coming soon!).
We also have weekly posts in our private Facebook group where members are welcome to communicate their business news.
Membership Sign-Up Questions
-
Click “Join Now” on the home page or Membership page.
You will be prompted to create an account (if you do not have one already).
After you create an account (or log in to an existing account), navigate back to the Membership page and click “Join Now”.
Complete the membership signup form and payment information.
Once your membership is complete, you will receive a welcome email.
If you have any issues signing up for a membership, please use the Contact Us form to reach our directors and IT team.
-
We were unable to transfer memberships from the previous site to the new site. Members were given a promo code when the new site went live (April 2025) to create a membership on the new site at no additional charge.
At this point, if any members have not yet migrated their account from the old site to the new site, you must sign up and pay for a brand new membership.
-
Every member must create an account; however an account is not the same as a membership. You must also sign up for a membership once your account has been created.
Follow the instructions above under “How do I sign up for a new membership?” to sign up for a membership using your existing account.
-
Once you’ve signed up for a membership, click the “Member Site” button in the upper left menu (mobile site) or upper right corner from any page (desktop site). You may be prompted to sign in with your email and password.
You will be prompted with a popup that says “Member Site” (mobile site) or a right sidebar (desktop site); click View.
This will take you to the Members-only site, where you can sign up for events.
Note: there is a known Squarespace issue with the mobile site where you might be prompted with the Member Site popup once you are already in the Member Site; in this case, the View button is grayed out. Click the Close button in the upper right corner to close the popup and continue navigating through the site.
-
There is no group password for the new site. Every member has their own account login(your email address and a password you create).
-
Use the Squarespace “Forgot Password” feature to reset your password. We are unable to reset passwords for members.
